Description and
type: By asphalted road taking the tower-off which leads from Kilometre 17 of
the same road from Ibiza to Portinatx.
Means of
transport: By private car or bicycle; if by the latter the steep gradients
need to be taken into account.
Distance: 27
kilometres from Ibiza, 5 kilometres from San Juan.
Description: Beach
situated at the far end of a long inlet in which there are, besides this one,
two other sandy beaches.
Length: 95 metres. · Width: 15 metres.
Composition: Of coarse, dark-coloured sand, there are many rocky comers.
Sea bottom: Of sand, stone and rock, with very interesting corners for
snorkellers. The gradient is somewhat sharp, with a depth of 1 metre at 4
metres from the shore and 2 metres at 18 metres out.
Direction, prevailing winds: These are from the south and from the land to the
sea but as the beach is situated beneath a slope on the land side, they are
greatly reduced.
Panoramic aspects: This area is one of those containing the best views on the
island, with very beautiful surroundings of low cliffs.
SUMMARY COMMENT: This is a wonderful natural enclave with very fine views,
particularly interesting for lovers of nature in search of good walks and
tranquillity, together with facilities. We recommend getting round to the
neighbouring beaches by pedal-boat, or visiting the cove's fine coastal
surroundings by similar method. |
