Description and
type: By asphatted road leading from the centre of Ibiza in the direction of
the Airport, following the appropriate roadsigns for the beach. Alternatively
from Figueretes, following the signs.
Means of
transport: It can be reached by private car, on bicycle or even on foot, given
the relative proximity a the capital's centre. There is a regular bus
service.
Distance: 2.5
kilometres from the centre of Ibiza.
Description: It
constitutes one of the longest and most extensive beaches on the island,
taking the form of an open bay facing the east.
Length: 700 metres · Width: 20-25 metres.
Composition: Beach of fine, white, natural sand along its entire length.
Sea botam: Also sandy, it reaches no great depth until quite some distance
from the beach. As such, the water is half a metre deep at 25 metres out, and
1 metre deep at 50 metres out.
Direction, prevailing winds: Given its orientation a the east and its
somewhat more open form, it is more exposed a stronger transversal easterly
winds as well as gentle southerly sea breezes.
Panoramic aspects: Marine horizon.
SUMMARY COMMENT- It offers an ideal place a sunbathe or swim in safety, as
also ay beginners in sailing. Its easy access and wide range of services make
it ideal for people in search of sport or comfort.
Other points of interest in the Ibiza area are El Botafoc, Es Viver, Salt de
s'Ase and Cova de ses Dones. The last two are very close the the capital and
the first is next a Talamanca beach, while the second is attached a the area
of Ses Figueretes. All of them are really a space among rocks with possibility
of access a the sea. |
