Description and type: By asphalted road leading from the centre of Ibiza
by way of Ibiza Nueva, or alternatively from the village of Jesus.
Means of transport: There is a regular bus service as well as a small
launch which leaves from the port of Ibiza. Also possible by private car
or bicycle, given the proximity of the capital.
Distance: 2 kilometres from the centre of Ibiza
Description: An enclosed bay of slight depth and very well sheltered
from winds.
Length: 900 metres · Width: 25-30 metres. · Composition: Beach of fine
sand of natural origin
Sea bottom: Also sandy and covered with submarine vegetation from a
certain depth, alternating with rocky areas. Gradient is ideal for
bathing, and there is no danger since the shallow water extends many
metres out from the shore.
Direction, prevailing winds: Its orientation to the south-east results
in prevailing winds from the sea to the land coming from the south.
Panoramic aspects: Marine horizon.
SUMMARY COMMENT. The combination of an enclosed bay of shallow depth,
protected from the wind together with the capital's proximity with a fully range of services makes this an ideal place in which to sunbathe or
have a swim in full safety, as also the ideal venue for taking up the
sport of sailing. Visit the Paseo Maritimo (Promenade) to obtain
information on the launch which travels to this area, with views across
the entire shoreline of the port.
