Description and
type: By asphalted road from the village of San Miquel up to the
port of San Miguel, from which a rough road leads to the other two
coves.
Means of transport: Private car or bicycle. There is a regular bus
service to the port all the year round. Cala Moltons and Es Pas de
s'Illa can be reached on fool or by car along an attractive road
which leads from the main beach of the port of San Miguel.
Distance: 22 kilometres from Ibiza, 13 kilometres from San Juan.
Description: Together this consists of three beaches of natural sand
closely connected with each other and situated on a coastline of
steep cliffs.
Length: 105 metres (Port of San Miguel), 30 metres (Cala Moltons3
and 60 metres (Pas de s'Illa).
Width: 80 metres (Port of San Miguel), 15 metres Cala Moltons) and
15 metres (Pas de s'Illa)
Composition: Medium-grained natural sand with rocky areas and
rounded boulders.
Sea bottom: Also sandy with some rocky places, at a certain depth
the bottom is covered with underwater vegetation. The gradient is
fairly sharp, with a metre's depth 5 metres from the shore and 2
metres at 15 metres out.
Direction, prevailing winds: The wind is usually from the south and
from the land, although being light this presents no risk to
bathers.
Panoramic aspects: There is a fine panorama of a good portion of the
island's steep northern coast.
SUMMARY COMMENT: The whole presents all sorts of possibilities
regarding activities, ranging from a fully gamut of sports and
facilities, to peaceful and solitary places suitable for walks in
beautiful surroundings. All in a small space and very well linked
together.
